You will be part of Zebra’s Enterprise Mobile Computing (EMC) division, a word class industry leader in mobile phone and computer products (IoT, Cell phone, Healthcare, Retail, Industrial, Warehouse, and Route Accounting devices), under the Enterprise Mobility Business of Zebra Technologies, Inc.  As part of a broader design team, you will participate in the design and development of mechanical parts within mobile computing products and accessories to ensure we have a holistic balance between tool design, part design, plastic and casting processing, and FEA and mold flow.  This position will coordinate teams from Zebra, our partners, and suppliers to confirm tool design, simulation, and tool build quality.  In doing so, you will be developing new processes, providing design advise, coordinate with supplier selection as well as investigating new suppliers.

This is a tooling engineering position with a focus on supporting the design and development of parts, and taking those parts though tooling, and assisting with addressing production readiness issues/efficiencies.  The responsibilities will range from supporting the Zebra development teams and assisting with best practice part design for tooling, to working with partners and suppliers on their tooling capabilities and understandings, to addressing issues and concerns that arise during the project phases prior to release. The role will report into the Global Mechanical engineering team and will require working with multiple project teams as well as the development partners and suppliers.  Additionally, there will be a focus on identifying new suppliers that can bring state of the art techniques, capabilities, and efficiencies.
