Responsible for planning and controlling the deployments of new release on various client’s environment through a release management process with use of appropriate tools/ technologies. Establish and maintain the release management procedures for successful deployments across product groups across all environments with help of various teams across various geographies. Responsible for planning and coordination of all phases and activities involved in release deployment operations.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for planning and coordination of all phases and activities involved in release deployment operations to ensure the release deployments happen as per the defined process and schedule.
  • Communicate the deployment schedule to all stakeholders, seek approvals and incorporate changes on real time basis to it based on feedback received from various stakeholders.
  • Should be able to perform the automated deployments using appropriate tools and technologies
  • Create and track deployment requests and update status in ticketing system
  • Keep track of Release calendar for upcoming deployments. Send daily emails for Production and Non-Production activities. Send Meeting Invites and escalation matrix to all concerned people for every Production Deployment. 
  • Send intermediate and final updates for every deployment activity highlighting the discrepancies/ key observations. Send Pre and Post activity notification to clients as required
  • Conduct production deployment calls and coordinate with all the stakeholders
  • Ensure Production deployments are completed in time & Use escalation matrix as & when required and ensure to get the timely resolution
  • Review tickets to ensure all details of the activity are mentioned appropriately
  • Coordinate with Support/ Implementation/ middleware / DBA / IT teams and ensures smooth deployments.
  • Coordinate with NOC team and ensure all the downtimes are scheduled. Coordinate with validations team for post deployment validation. Coordinate with IT team for maintenance activities
  • Perform setup instructions / configurations on the clusters post upgrade as applicable

Qualifications

 

Graduate/ Post Graduate, in an IT-related discipline from Reputed colleges / MBA - IT

Minimum Work Experience (years):2-3 years

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Good to have ITIL certification. Should be aware of SDLC and expert in Software Deployment / Release Management / change management processes
  • Should have good understanding and working experience of issues ticketing systems like Service now, JIRA etc.
  • Should have good understanding and preferabley hands-on experience on Automation, CI/CD tools
  • Basic awareness of various IT Infrastructure activities like Virtual servers, hosting, middleware, DB activities and basic knowledge of pplication/ database/ web servers etc.
  • Excellent communication & documentation skills, Strong planning skills
  • Should be willing to work across time zones/ weekends as required for the deployments
  • Very good coordination skills and ability to drive the calls with multiple stakeholders involved
  • Should have eye for detailing and should be self-driven
  • Strong ability in driving the things and ensure on time completion
  • Should have Good Aptitude/ Analytical capability
  • Should be very punctual, and be able to multitask and able drive multiple things at a time.
