The Localization Project Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the completion of all Chinese language projects in compliance with marketing content guidelines in China. Person will coordinate with the agency on the pre-read and edits to English version of the content prior to translation submission, and then reviewing and editing all resulting Chinese content to ensure compliance


  • Responsible for overseeing the planning, creation and translation of content and making sure they stay true to Zebra’s brand and messaging while inspiring Chinese customers and being compliant with guidelines
  • Co-operate with external marketing agencies/ media partners/ translations vendors to manage deadlines and project scope
  • Responsible for overseeing the editing Global English copy to be translated into Chinese for Global and locally produced content / projects
  • Responsible for the creation and revision of innovative and imaginative copies according to creative briefs and deadlines for the China market
  • Manage the entire life-cycle of Chinese localization projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Coordinate all the project phases and provide timeline estimates for each of them
  • Monitor project status versus target launch dates
  • Hands-on with existing translation tools and comply with global translation processes
  • Liaise with internal content owners for clarifications
  • Review (proof-reading for non-violation) the translated version of the content and make final copy edits and prior to handing it off to the panel of reviewers for technical review
  • Liaise with Legal team for specific clarifications on violations
  • Maintain project documentation along the way

Essential skills and experience required:

  • Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin- strong written and verbal/spoken skillsets required
  • Understand digital and social media marketing platforms (Websites, Weibo, WeChat Youku) for China market
  • Good understanding of information content development process
  • Tertiary Graduate, someone from linguistic-related studies will be an advantage
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience
  • Detail-orientation with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Independence in carrying out assigned tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office and Windows
  • Experience in translation and localization project management would be a strong advantage


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing
  • 0-2 years of applicable work experience; previous work experience preferred
  • Problem solving, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Communication skills and commitment to teamwork and ability to operate in a matrix business environment
  • Creative thinker, passion for innovation and new ideas
  • Good time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Drives for results and is budget conscious
  • Solid skills using a variety of computer programs and social media platforms
