Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of a hardwareor software development function,primarily supervising non-exempt or technician level workers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assigns and oversees work of a team ofengineering technicians responsible for support functions in the development of new software technologies
  • Represents technician function in design meetings / projects. Monitors progress against deliverablesfrom the team and reports to design team.
  • Coaches and develops technicians in fundamentals of engineering support activitieswhich mayinclude design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototypesoftware code,applications, programs, or test protocols.
  • Worksfrom written and verbal descriptions, or defined plansto perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
  • Performsoperational test and faultisolation onsoftware programs.
  • Determinesmethods or actionsto remedy malfunctions.
  • Assistinginthedesign, test and check-out of test equipment.
  • Performs audits and tests of software products inaccordance with software test plans and procedures.
  • Debugs and characterizes defects, provides detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports.
  • Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering.
  • Identifies actual or potential problems in test plans or company products.
  • Assistsproduct development engineers in thediagnosis and replication of product failures.
  • May perform engineering support activities themselves acting as a senior technician as needed
  • Demonstrates intermediate understanding of development processes and product launch scope and actvities
  • Directly supervises one or more engineering technicians


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an IT-related field, or the equivalent of education from BITS / IIT’s / NIT’s/Reputed colleges.
  • Total of 4 - 6 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 2 - 3 years of recent hands on experience in the following technologies.
  • Core Java
  • Spring
  • Hibernate
  • Servlets
  • Web Services
  • CSS / CSS3
  • Python
  • NIFI
  • At least 2 - 3 years recent hands on experience in using an RDBMS (preferably Oracle, DB2, MSSQL Server, MySQL) and in Understanding and Writing SQL Queries.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Must be flexible and able to "think creatively".
  • Strong understanding of impact analysis and effective software change management (SCM) and control.
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Development
  • Ability to implement and follow programming standards.
  • Solid understanding of system development life cycle methodology.
  • Ability to multi task and good time leadership skills
  • Proven track record to write concise technical documentation.
