The Trade Compliance Specialist, Senior is a key player in Zebra’s APAC Global Trade Compliance team. This role is an individual contributor role based in India, supporting Zebra’s India sales team and the larger Indian sub-continent for partners. Preference is for the position to be based out of Bangalore, but candidates from Mumbai, Noida or Pune may apply and will be considered. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Trade Compliance based in Singapore


  • Managing of HTS, ECCN, customs valuation, customs brokers, trade consultants, internal and external stakeholders, liaising with customs officials, business process documentation, business process innovation, audits, record keeping
  • Regulatory research on international trade and customs matters
  • Ability to read and interpret legal and customs text and summarize them into useful and digestible information for the business is absolutely critical
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
  • Conversational Hindi
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally to influence and contribute to decision-making
  • Intellectually curious
  • Good interpersonal skills

Projects include:

  • Activation of free trade agreement, legal and customs research and analysis, systems/data alignment, User acceptance testing and others as assigned
  • Regional projects may be assigned
  • Occasional calls with global teams outside of standard Indian working hours for projects, business alignment or team building


  • Prefer 5-8 years of experience as a trade compliance professional in conjunction with experience in legal/finance/commerce experience
  • Final position and job grade maybe adjusted depending on qualification, skills and experience of the candidate
