Develops, designs, models, and tests radio frequency transmitters and receiver circuit subsystems. Works on multi-disciplinary teams responsible for integrated product designs including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition and ancillary equipment.


Lead the design & development of mobile device RF circuits, radios, and/or RF-subsystems for handheld battery-operated Enterprise-class, data & voice enabled smart-devices.

  • Work directly with ODM/IDH manufacturers and their sub-suppliers to carryout product development with strict adherence to product requirements, product & project cost and schedule.
  • Assess technical feasibility of new product features and concepts.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Management, Quality and Supply Chain to deliver products on spec, on quality, on budget and on time.
  • Provide RF technical oversight of third-party designers of RF circuits and sub-system solutions
  • Directing & overseeing all aspects of associated RF/system testing in-House or at an external 3rd-parties, Antenna Vendors, Test Labs, etc.
  • Communicate development status in technical terms to schedule milestones, technical progress, schedule issues, risk-mitigation steps and problem resolution plans to the broader program team.
  • Support the selection of radio chipset architectures & components for multiple wireless technologies over multiple frequency bands (i.e., 13.56MHz; 700MHz to 6GHz, including but not limited to: 4G/LTE, 5G Sub6GHz & mmWave, GNSS, Wi-Fi6/E, BT, NFC, UWB, RFID, etc.)
  • RF system integration (radio/antenna) design, debugging and performance optimization
  • Ensure the overall RF/antenna system solution will fully satisfy target customer/Regulatory/Carrier Operator RF system performance requirements
  • Creating and/or reviewing cascaded RF Lineup budgets, Blocking & Jamming analyses and performing RF circuit/system analyses through computer simulations
  • Performing hands-on RF integration and debug experiments of RF circuitry using commercial lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, base station emulators, signal simulators, network analyzers and OTA/MIMO measurement chambers, etc.
  • Efficiently expediting responses & solutions to Customer queries & issues on fielded products
  • Ensuring all accessories are fully functional and regulatory compliant at a combined system level

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • In addition to speaking fluent Chinese or Mandarin, it would be key to have the ability to converse & write well in English
  • Direct experience with ODM/CM models of product development.
  • Familiarity with product development utilizing Qualcomm, MediaTek, and/or Exynos chipsets.
  • Broad, cross-functional understanding of hardware product execution such as EE/ME/RF/ID, design for cost optimization and factory/operations – familiarity with SW enablement and development is a plus.
  • Successful completion of multiple consumer products, with direct experience shipping products in high volumes
  • Deep knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines.
