Responsibilities

 

Part of the Zebra Regulatory Department, this role will be based in Taipei Taiwan, to support the growing business in the Asia-pacific region.

As a Regulatory Specialist, the role will involve working closely with our ODM/JDM partners and Test Laboratories to support Regulatory Certifications across our Data Capture Solutions and Enterprise Mobile Computing business units.

 

The role requires one with an in-depth experience of RF, EMC, SAR and Product Safety testing and certifications worldwide with a strong WLAN, WAN and RFID Regulatory expertise. Must have a solid understanding of technical specifications and approval process, including but not limited to FCC, CE and UL/CB certifications.

 

As a “Regulatory Lead”, you will be responsible for providing regulatory support to development teams based in the USA and Asia. You will also be expected to work closely with Zebra’s partners (ODMs/JDMs) through the regulatory process to ensure final certification of the product.

The Candidate will also provide the Regulatory team with local representation, liaising with partners on behalf of Zebra.

 

The Candidate must work with internal team members and external multi-functional teams, for management, tracking and reporting on aspects of Regulatory requirements for a product, such as RF, EMC, Product Safety and Laser/LED Safety.

  • Work with ODMs/JDMs, Test Laboratories and Zebra Regulatory team to evaluate, select, and apply International standards, compliance testing techniques, test procedures, and criteria.
  • Develop specification and requirements documents to be supplied to development engineering teams.
  • Comfortable to work across geographical boundaries and time zones.
  • High independency as well as agility in a team environment is essential
  • Must be fully proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with internal and ODM/JDM Development teams on new product development.
  • Collaborating with other Regulatory Leads in their areas of expertise.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to development teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Preparation/Review of regulatory test plans, regulatory schedules, statues documents and costing information from the test lab and ODM/JDM for all stakeholders.
  • Fixing any test or certification issues that arise at ODMs/JDMs and test labs.
  • Supervise and Report on new Regulatory requirements that could impact our products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical performance experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with focus on RF (WAN, WLAN and RFID) and EMC.
  • Familiarity with (UL/CB/BSMI/CCC) Product Safety requirements.
  • Program Management skills.
  • Experience interacting with customers, regulatory agencies and test labs.
