Overview

About you:

 

As a functional leader you will develop a team of program managers that also operates across all levels of the company and can drive strategic initiatives as well as product development in realizing our company’s
vision. Technical and solutions manager of program management team is responsible for leading agile cross functional team of Systems and SW Engineers, Test Engineers, Operations, etc. from initial concept to deployment. You will meet complex program goals for product performance, quality goals, regulatory compliance requirements, cost, schedule and development budget. Responsible for working with Product Management, Marketing, and Experience Designers to define the product, solidify the business case, and author the product and experience specifications. Given our multitude of design and development partners, you will participate with negotiations involving Business Development and Legal.

Responsibilities

 

  • Functional leadership of SW program management teams and  Independently drives team growth and
    development plans and supports individual’s execution of development activities such as training,
    mentorships, and guiding growth opportunities for high potentials.
  • Team leadership for scaled Agile cross-functional innovation teams. Contribute to and promote the
    development of agile skillset and capabilities within Zebra. Execute multiple limited scope projects
    simultaneously or a large program utilizing modern project management methodologies to ensure
    maximum project effectiveness.
  • Organize and lead scrum teams a release train engineer (RTE)
  • Drive execution of solutions inclusive of concept definition, requirements validation, architecture
    specification, and governance compliance to our Application Lifecycle Management framework.
  • Independently building relationships and working across all relevant areas of the solution business
    including Sales, Services, IT, Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support.
  • Works independently with business in defining proof of value and customer’s return on investment.
  • Organizes and presents business, technical and program reviews/status to Senior Leadership using
    digital media, dashboards and JIRA agile project management tools.
  • Independently execute to program plan and budgets for multiple, large projects. Recommend
    corrective actions and implement changes. Identify and mitigate risks; develop and implement risk
    mitigation plans. Owns ensuring alignment from key leaders of milestone achievement before moving
    the program forward.
  • Demonstrates the ability to see cross-functional impacts of decisions and project plans and
    execution. Balances scope, schedule and budget considerations to adjust the project with minimal
    impact to the business. Understands the business objectives of the program and assumes personal
    accountability for success of the program against those objectives.
  • Define strategic initiatives to align the business to agile product development. Work closely with
    Portfolio Management to ensure strategic goals align and are represented in the innovation feature
    roadmap. Assist in the development of business plans, strategies and approaches to take advantage of
    business opportunities.
  • Execute multiple programs simultaneously utilizing Scaled Agile Framework and modern project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness. Execute to program plan and budgets for multiple, large projects. Recommend corrective actions and implement changes. Identify and mitigate risks; develop and implement risk mitigation plans.

Qualifications

This role is for you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical field required.  Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years program management experience and 17-20 years of total experience in SW industry
  • At least 5 years of experience in executing / working experience in Agile world
  • Experience with software development best practices including Scaled Agile and Continuous Integration; a track record of applying these methodologies required
  • Intermediate to advanced presentation skills required. Demonstrated comfort in presenting to mid to senior level cross functional audiences
  • PMP certification / Agile SAFe Certification

 

 You can excel in this role if you have:

  • Experience in team building with proven interpersonal skills
  • Past responsibility for multiple significant SW solutions delivered-to-market solutions
  • Experience with Cloud development and Software/Services development integration, as well as mobile application development for Android or iOS.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team to solve difficult technical, quality, cost, and schedule challenges; well versed in risk management practices
