Automation Test Engineer

About you:

You will work very closely with engineering, sales and services team to ensure that our devices are working well in various product and service offerings.

The Engineer will be an integral member of the test and development team performing activities such as test and tool design, test automation, test software development and debug, documentation, product test, and support firmware development. 

Be a member of a dynamic, high performance team responsible for improving customer value and reducing time to market by driving test innovation and improvements for Zebra products.

As a member of the team, you are required to play an integral part in this cross-functional team.

Your knowledge and experience, big-picture view, leadership and communication skills would allow you to answer directly to the senior management.

You are responsible for

• You will be working with engineers in Firmware, Software, Electrical and Mechanical groups to test and debug features and improvements.
• Lead the test and design, develop, debug, and test automated tests and test infrastructure in a quality manner consistent with company and departmental standards and procedures.
• Test products under specified and/or reasonable conditions under which it may operate.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field of test, software languages, techniques, methods and mentor junior members of the team.
• Investigate problems and recommend solutions.  Implement any required corrective action.
• Advise and assist developers in the design or modification of firmware.
• Upon accepting the estimates of others, complete the task to schedule in a timely manner.
• Supports junior software test engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.

• Tech/MTech in ECE,EEE or CS.
• Maximum 5 years’ experience with proven track record as an Individual Contributor at product-based companies
• Interest and knowledge of embedded software test, embedded software and Software tool development are highly desired
• Must be proficient in Python, Android development, Scripting, Tool development, C, and have experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience in Device testing in added advantage
• Knowledge in BT or Wi-Fi is desirable.
• Skills in OOD, Design patterns, Structured design, Design Documentation, Debugging Techniques are desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
