Manages Accounting staff to develop and prepare all financial statements and month-end closing activities for multiple complex legal entities in a region. Ensures staff accurately reviews and prepares account reconciliations and interprets accounting standards and regulations. Designs complex operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency of department. Equal Opportunities:


The Role

  • Lead APAC regional accounting, financial reporting and compliance review, work closely with Corporate Accounting, Global Finance Shared Services, Tax, FP&A and Commercial Finance. Controllership for regional HQ and legal entities.
  • Strategically integrates accounting practices, procedures, and process improvements in accordance with accounting standards and regulations and manages interim and year-end audits with internal and external auditors.
  • Provide oversight of business facing accounting activities for APAC region, including Balance Sheet reviews and month end close process.
  • Manage regional technical accounting matters in consultation with Corporate technical accounting team. Responsible for APAC revenue recognition accounting, internal controls, and statutory compliance under US GAAP and local GAAP, and accounting policies by collaborating with rest of finance functions and functional stakeholders.
  • Lead business accounting. Responsible for providing inputs to commercial business teams, FP&A and commercial finance as part of the Planning and forecasting processes.
  • Support legal entity Board of Directors by validating Financial Statements in coordination with Finance Shared Services and Tax department as well as making sure all local requirements are met working with local advisors.
  • Proactively manage audit planning and follow through, to drive partnership in audit engagements.
  • Regional contact to engage with CAO office in Accounting and Compliance related projects, including M&A activities as required.
  • Management of Corporate and regional internal and external audit engagements and processes.
  • APAC leader for SOX compliance, liaising with other finance functions and CAO function and CAO team. Ensure appropriate controls, adequate processes and systems of internal controls are in place. Drive process simplification and improvement, meet all controls and audit related metrics.
  • Promoting and driving continuous process improvements to develop smarter controls through analytics.
  • Responsible for Singapore EDB and MES compliance reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate regional working capital and foreign currency positions in engagement with Corporate Treasury.
  • Build & maintain relationship with finance functional stakeholders, peers and management team. Provide mentorship and supports development initiatives for regional accounting & finance team.
  • Recommends changes as necessary to improve policy and procedures.
  • Provides accounting policy training, as vital to broader finance and stakeholders.
  • Establishes network of GBS, in country and external accounting professional resources to stay abreast of development in accounting standards.
  • Leads APAC finance PMO function, campaign for regional finance Agile projects.
  • Perform other tasks and participate in company/ functional initiatives as assigned from time-to-time.

About You

You should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance with deep domain in the field and as a people leader. Microsoft tools like excel, database and ERP systems should be familiar as well.
