Overview

Develops, designs, models, and tests radio frequency transmitters and receiver circuit subsystems. Works on multi-disciplinary teams responsible for integrated product designs including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Establishes detailed technical requirements for highly complex RF design projects and may lead a team responsible for establishing requirements. Ensures accurate features are optimally incorporated into projects.
• Architects and designs highly complex RF circuit and system design projects. Finishes the phases of the projects on-schedule and in budget. Follows through on all aspects of product development through release, certification and mass production.
• Builds new products, technologies and solutions based on novel or outstanding ideas. Ensures new ideas and methodologies are well detailed for use by the team.
• Uses status as a knowledge leader in RF design and functional knowledge across multiple engineering subject areas and program management to provide technical leadership to a given program.
• Defines and verifies RF requirements using RF design tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems.
• Initiates cross-company collaboration and develops positive relationships with other engineering fields.
• Exercises judgment (within broadly defined policies and practices) in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for acquiring the most accurate and repeatable results
• May coordinate the activities of other personnel.
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across interpersonal lines. Represent the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs project leadership

Qualifications

Qualification:
• Minimum Bachelor’s of Science degree, preferred Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin
• 8+ years work experience (min)
• Hands on mobile phone design experience, with deep understanding of cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC technologies.
• Familiar with commercial RF and Antenna-related simulation tools.
• Familiar with regulatory, compliance, network certification process and requirement.
• Familiar and experience with production process and related technical support.
• Antenna integration and design related experience is a bonus.

Preference given to the individual with practical experience in:
• 5-8 years of practical industry experience in designing with RF circuits using the latest Smartphone chipsets (i.e., Qualcomm, Intel, MediaTek, etc.)
• Detailed understanding of all aspects of a complete mobile wirelessly-enabled product development lifecycle; concept through mass production
• RF/EM CAD simulation (i.e., ADS, CST, etc.) including RF simulation of circuits, PCBs, cascaded RF link analysis, etc.
• Noise / RF interference mitigation and troubleshooting methods
• RF system integration (radio/antenna) design, debugging and optimization
• Proven RF design proficiency to achieve FCC/ETSI/3GPP compliance with recent success cases
