Tools, Utilities and Solutions Portfolio (TUT) is a collection of robust applications and services for Enterprises who use Zebra Mobile computers. Our Solutions includes providing out of the box staging, device management, application management, security, OS update efficiency tools and overall device lifecycle management. It also encompasses developer tools like Enterprise Browser, Enterprise Keyboard, and other such solutions. We create robust device Tools, Utilities and Enterprise Solutions on the Zebra Mobile computing product line under the Tools and Utilities Portfolio – the portfolio includes android system applications, desktop tools and cloud solutions.

 

About you:

 

The job role is for a seasoned Software/Systems implementation engineer like you to work in the Enterprise TUTS of Zebra’s Enterprise division.

You as a qualified engineer will provide architectural strategy, development, and implementation of TUT Portfolio improvements leading to increased ease of system operations, monitoring and alignment to business processes of Enterprises.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for

  • You will define the architectural strategy, design, develop and implement TUT portfolio operational products following Agile/SCRUM development/deployment processes.
  • You will work on a multi-disciplined collaborating with Product Management, Support, architecture, software, systems, and solutions engineers/architects and serve as the lead engineer for the operational considerations.
  • You will be hands-on on design and implementation of features for the Enterprise products.
  • Work on the entire SDLC to build and support solutions which would aid customer deployments.
  • Defines requirements for and design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex customer problems.
  • Initiates cross-company collaboration and develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters
  • requiring coordination across organizational lines. Represent the organization as the principal customer contact.

  • Zebra Technologies is looking for a hands-on Senior Engineer with 5-8 years’ experience with in-depth working knowledge in Android Application and Framework.
  • The candidate will play a critical role in working closely with counterparts across the globe to build a cutting-edge solution to help with the deployment of Zebra Enterprise Mobile Computing Portfolio to our potential customers.
  • Engineering degree in Computer Science/Electronics with 5-8 years in SW development experience
  • Ability to work on developing complex Android applications and define the underlying FW interfaces
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”
  • Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks

  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • In depth knowledge of Linux kernel architecture and driver concepts
  • Hands-on/working knowledge on debugging kernel crashes, panic
  • Understanding of SELINUX Policies and permissions
  • Working knowledge on Qualcomm chipset is a plus.
