Industrial Designers (ID) partners with product development teams across all businesses from mobile computer, communications, and data capture solutions. The team includes the disciplines of industrial design, user interaction design, design research and human factors. Our team members work directly with development groups on product programs through the entire development process. The portfolio of solutions includes unique enterprise-focused mobile applications as well as web-based tools used for data aggregation and analytics or device deployment and management. The ID team also puts a strong focus on new innovation programs. It works with divisions on new technologies and new market opportunities. Given the team's unique position, they play a very strategic role within Zebra Technologies.
Creates and develops design concepts and specifications that optimize the function, ergonomics, perceived value and appearance of physical hardware products and systems for product consumers and end users. Partners with internal and external marketing and design groups to research and analyze design trends and customer feedback for incorporation into product enhancements, new product design and overall design language and strategy. Produces and validates product design specifications and production requirements with insourced and outsourced manufacturing and engineering groups.
