  • Overview

    Responsible for presenting Zebra’s vision, values, products, services and culture to targeted external audiences through collaboration with business clients to develop and execute strategic external communication plans. Develops strategies to help build a positive corporate image employing various methods of communication. Responds to media inquiries and proactively creates media opportunities.

    Grows business awareness in the APAC region through a variety of public relations (PR) programs aligned with the region’s core business strategies, objectives and goals as well as the company’s overall thought leadership platform. Responsible for developing and executing regional PR, including day-to-day oversight of the Company’s outside PR partners in the region.


    1. Creates the overall regional public relations strategies and plans with measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Collaborates with the APAC marketing management team on a regular basis to ensure specific return on investment (ROI) for the company.
    2. Proactively builds Zebra’s reputation with all target audiences, creating the APAC PR strategy aligned with the corporate brand positioning.
    3. Leads all APAC public relations functions to include the development of PR strategy and plans, and oversight of internal and external resources.
    4. Communicates with PR leads in other regions to ensure content is leveraged within Zebra’s business strategy and messaging while effectively and efficiently implementing regional and country-specific PR strategy and tactics.
    5. Grows and protects Zebra’s reputation, solutions and services through proactive, consistent outreach to key stakeholders; drives positive influence with key analysts in region.
    6. Leads regional hub & spoke system to grow awareness of Zebra.
    7. Demonstrates Zebra’s innovation across our product/solutions portfolio through storytelling that aligns with our business objectives.
    8. Understands and recommends the use of traditional media and online media to maximize coverage, preference for APAC Zebra based on strong media relationships; recommends strategic sponsorship opportunities.
    9. Manages PR support person in the APAC region along with the agency team.
    10. Manages and owns budget for regional communication plans that may cross businesses.
    11. Measures regional PR program success by setting quarterly goals and reporting metrics.
    12. Creates process to share PR content with other teams including sales and marketing to leverage with customers, partners, etc.; track use of content through these channels to add to metrics.
    13. Aligns with regional marketing team and localize global content to convey corporate messaging (including CSR, brand, internal); applies corporate crisis management plan in-region and engage executives as appropriate.
    14. Demonstrates leadership via successful project and people management and employing innovative thinking.
    15. Daily activities could include: relationship management (internal and external), campaign development and execution, media research and response, executive counseling and coaching, media material development, story creation and placement, budget forecasting and crisis communication management.
    16. Performs other duties as assigned.


    1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field.
    2. 7-10 years or more of Corporate Communications/Public Relations experience, inclusive of 5 years of management experience, focused on media relations. B2B technology and publicly-traded company communications preferred.
    3. Highly collaborative, team-oriented leadership style and a strong background managing others.
    4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to communicative effectively and serve as a company spokesperson – English and local languages preferred.
    5. Well-established press contacts and a strong track record in event organization and planning.
    6. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
    7. Ability to integrate PR and AR programs to support marketing goals and programs; able to perform within an integrated team environment.
    8. Ability to manage PR agencies; international media experience a must.
    9. Outstanding presentation skills.
    10. Ability to counsel senior management, deal effectively with key constituents and provide strategic direction.
    11. Results-oriented, with a discipline of measurement and improvement.
