  • Overview

    Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimiments.

    Responsibilities

    • Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
    • May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
    • Analyze designs to designate necessary equipment to collect data.
    • Evaluate and synthesize experimental tests and their results.
    • Read and design plans to build electrical systems on a variety of products and machinery.
    • Focus on manipulation and usage of electricity within a function of an engineered process
    • Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related fields
    • 10+ years of professional experience in an engineering role, in a research and development environment
    • 5+ years of experience in design, characterization, debug of high speed circuits
    • Experience with Signal and Power integrity analysis utilizing Cadence Sigrity
    • Experience with lab equipment for high-speed digital systems
    • SI/PI constraints for design (custom constraints correlating to the simulation requested)
    • Standard IBIS, S-parameter, SPICE models
    • Special design parameters e.g. frequencies of clocks, current, voltages, impedances…
    • The ability to execute and distill pre-layout signal integrity simulations into rulesets for layout engineers with stack-up and line width tolerance specifications for fabrication
    • The ability to execute and verify post-layout signal integrity simulations for electrical and functional correctness in support of prototype and production fabrication
    • Experience with correlating simulation results.
    • Experience with the following tools and flows: Hspice, Sigrity (Power SI/XcitePI), ANSYS and ADS
    • Experience in design, schematic capture, simulation and layout of complex circuit boards using ECAD tools – Cadence Concept and Allegro is preferred
    • The ability to work in independently complemented with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills is required
