  • Overview

    Develops and executes experiments and performance tests to assess reliability of Zebra’s devices / solutions.


    • Acts independently to design tests and create test procedures to address complex issues. Develop focused test plans to identify product weaknesses. Design and set up test fixtures. Design and perform Design of Experiments (DOE)
    • Consistently applies standard and specialized testing methods appropriate for use at various stages of the design and development process. Demonstrates full knowledge of product and product cost drivers for all subsystems.
    • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficiency with standard and specialized engineering tools. May coach or mentor junior team members
    • Perform testing following established test plans and procedures. Makes decisions independently for new test procedures. Completes and reports results of tests per project timelines. Performs complex root cause analysis
    • Participates actively in the selection / development of new engineering tools.
    • Works closely with design engineers and development teams to identify critical performance parameters.
    • Acts independently to recommend and execute against actions for maintaining test progress.
    • Provides expertise in structured test design, test set-up, metrology, data collection, data interpretation, and statistical analysis to design / project team.
    • Leads to process improvement and automation projects, which may include indirectly managing a project team.
    • May present test results to project team, in department management or small groups of other stakeholders commonly including Director level audience members
    • May oversee the work of one or more test technicians
    • Acts as a role model, resource and escalation point for PV team. May mentor or coach junior team members.


    • Preferred Education: Master’s degree
    • Preferred Work Experience (years): 8-12 years
