Zebra’s Fusion software in its devices enables us to provide value-added, easily configurable and flawless IEEE 802.11 WLAN connectivity solutions to our enterprise customers. The role of a Zebra Fusion Software Engineer is to design, develop and debug enhancements in the WLAN software stack (driver, supplicant and framework) on Android devices. This involves programming in C/C++/Java in a resource-constrained multi-processor environment.


    1. Design, develop and debug enhancements in the 802.11 WLAN software stack on Android devices.
    2. Perform unit and regression tests before integrating code onto the mainline.
    3. Be a member of an Agile cross-functional scrum team, participate in Sprint planning, review and retrospective.
    4. Provide estimates and deliver high quality code within agreed timelines.
    5. Conduct peer software reviews
    6. Create relevant documents following the processes.


    Minimum qualifications

    • Excellent C/C++/Java programming skills with proven experience in writing efficient code for low powered and memory constrained devices.
    • Excellent knowledge of IEEE 802.11 WLAN protocol and standards.
    • Excellent problem solving ability with experience in diagnosing complex system issues including strong debugging skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be a good team player.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar.
    • 3 to 10  years embedded software design/development experience

    Preferred qualifications

    • Experience in Linux device driver development.
    • Working knowledge in Android framework and WPA supplicant.
    • Knowledge of SDIO or PCI Express interface between the host processor and the communication processor.
    • Experience of working on WLAN chipsets from Qualcomm, Broadcom, TI, Marvel.
    • Experience of having worked in all areas – WLAN driver, WPA Supplicant, Android framework and UI – would be preferred.
